Robert G. Loughery was sworn in as a Bucks County Commissioner on February 3, 2011, after being appointed to the Board of Commissioners by the Judges of the Court of Common Pleas of Bucks County, and was elected to a full term in November 2011. He was re-elected to a second term in November 2015 and served as Chairman of the Board in 2012 - 2016 and again in 2018 & 2019.

We leveraged state transportation funding sources in innovative ways to repair and replace more bridges in the last three years than we had the previous ten years to make travel safer and reduce commuting costs,
Working in partnership with the Bucks County Community College, we established a Metalworks Training Program that has graduated 165 individuals with 155 job placements; and, recently, we announced the creation of a new, state-of-the-art Center for Workforce and Economic Development to be located at the BCCC Bristol campus....to create more initiatives like this...so our young people can find good family sustaining work.
We embarked on an ambitious trails program to connect our county's parks and natural resources for more people to enjoy, as we continuously work to improve the quality of life in Bucks County
Working with our District Attorney Matt Weintraub we added 6 new detectives to support his Drug Strike Force to lock up and prosecute heroin drug dealers in our county that have spread this deadly epidemic, which has been a scourge on our communities and families.
This Bucks County ground was so polluted it had to be burned. Now it holds a factory.
